Omega Oak Barn
All personal clothing is laundered on the premises on a daily basis. Residents are requested at the time they move to the Home – and with any items of clothing brought in for them subsequently - to have all personal clothing clearly labelled with their name.
Bed linen and towels are provided, however a dry cleaning service is not available within the Home.
We are quite happy for residents to retain the services of their GP where possible. If residents come for admission from a distance and their own GP is unable to visit, then a doctor will take over their medical care, using either Helmsley or Kirkbymoorside GP practices as they wish.
The Home's chiropodist visits on a six weekly basis. Residents who wish to retain the services of their own chiropodist are able to do so.
Lynne our hairdresser visits every Wednesday afternoon, or alternatively if a resident wishes to retain their own hairdresser, they are quite welcome to do so.
The Home has an aromatherapist who visits on a monthly basis, other domiciliary visits by physiotherapists, opticians, dentists etc can be arranged by appointment.
A regular C of E communion service is held monthly, and the local Methodist Minister is a regular visitor. Clergy of other denominations are always welcome, and can be called upon to visit those who wish to see them.
We have a selection of items on sale in our weekly mobile shop, which is for the convenience of residents should they wish to make a purchase. These include toiletries i.e. shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, tissues, stationery and stamps. All items can be charged to an account or paid for in cash.
A varied selection of books are available for reading from the in house library, or alternatively we have volunteers who visit the Home regularly and will obtain any specific book from the local library.
